AMEE is upgrading MedEdPublish. You may lose data if you don't take action!!

The upgrade of AMEE MedEdPublish will provide a more intuitive experience for authors and allow their published papers to be indexed. Once indexed, published papers will be available to a wider readership within the Medical and Health Care Professions sector. Having delivered the improved functionality to allow published papers to be indexed, AMEE MedEdPublish will shortly be applying for indexing with PMC (PubMed Central) and the DOAJ (Directory of Open Access journals).

The software upgrade will take effect from Monday 2 July 2018.

In anticipation of the upgrade it is necessary to restrict the creation of new papers from Monday 11 June 2018. It is also necessary to delete papers which, by Monday 18 June, have not been submitted for publishing.

  1. If you have an incomplete draft in the current system which was created since December 1 2017, you should pay close attention to the following to possibly avoid losing vital work:
    1. If you wish to complete publication of your draft in the current version of AMEE MedEdPublish, you must complete the paper and submit it for publishing by Monday 18 June . You should ensure that you have a version of the submitted paper in your possession. In the event that you submit a paper for publication, but are unsuccessful, your unpublished paper will be deleted.
    2. If you wish to publish your draft in the upgraded version of AMEE MedEdPublish after Monday 2 July 2018, you must ensure you have a current version of your paper in your possession before Monday 18 June 2018. After this date the unpublished content within MedEdPublish will no longer be available to you. After Monday 2 July 2018, you can submit your paper on the upgraded journal using the more intuitive template that ensures your paper can be indexed.
    3. If you do not wish to publish your draft paper, or you do not require a copy of the content within your incomplete draft, you need do nothing. Your draft paper will be deleted after Monday 18 June 2018.
  2. If you have an incomplete draft in the current system which was created before December 1 2017, your paper will be deleted after June 18 2018. If you wish to publish your paper you should ensure you have a current copy of the draft before June 18 2018 and submit the paper for publication on the upgraded version of AMEE MedEdPublish after July 2 2018.
