What is MedEdPublish?

MedEdPublish is a highly visible, open access, specialist practitioner e-journal that enables academics, teachers, clinicians, researchers and students to publish their experiences, views and research findings relating to teaching, learning and assessment in medical and health professions education.  Articles are published on a continuous basis following editorial screening.

Open access means that all users have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of all MedEdPublish articles. Articles are published under a Creative Commons CC BY-SA licence which additionally permits users to remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, on condition that correct attribution is given, all changes are clearly indicated, and the new material is published under the same licence. The copyright of each article remains with the current copyright holder (usually the author or their institution).

An innovative and key feature of MedEdPublish is that the peer review process begins following publication. Post-publication peer review follows an open and transparent process, which aims to avoid editorial bias. We use an ‘open identities’ principle, whereby all reviewers submit their feedback publicly, under their own name, and everyone visiting an article page can see all peer review reports, referee names, and comments, and can join the discussion if they wish.
